Seneca Lake Wedding

Seneca Lake Design designed and organized the perfect rehearsal dinner and wedding for my husband and I on Seneca Lake. We married on my parents’ property, and there were many logistical requirements to make the event happen. Matthew and Liana handled all aspects of our wedding, including concept design, custom invitations, tent rental, flowers, band contracts, bathroom rental, and site construction. We got a full wedding experience from them – they were 100% devoted to making our vision come to life. The end result was beyond anything that I could have imagined. The wedding day in particular was pure MAGIC. The flowers were vibrant and unique! The tent was the most stunning set up that I had ever seen. All of the little details were covered – there were hand dyed napkins, hand constructed floral chandeliers, hand-painted shale stone escort cards, a perfect wedding arch made of local driftwood ... even the bushes were full of little fairy lights! Matthew and Liana far exceeded my expectations in all regards. I would absolutely recommend them without reservation and with full enthusiasm to anyone looking for a unique and high-end experience.

Elegent Wedding at Glenora Winery

Matthew and Liana from Seneca Lake Design were wonderful to work with! We used them for planning and design services. It was the best decision we made!
It was so nice to work with a team that could do both planning and design work. It made everything so much less stressful. They were professional and easy to work with. We trusted all of their recommendations and trusted that they would handle any issues that arose. We aren’t from the area, so we really relied on them to recommend vendors in the area, which were all great.
Their design for the venue was absolutely beautiful. They really transformed the space, making it fit our style while staying in our budget. We still get compliments on how beautiful all the flowers were.
On the day of the wedding, we were able to just enjoy our day. We didn’t have to worry about any details. We knew that Liana had all of the details of the day and the vendors under control, and that Matthew and his team were working their magic with flowers and design.
Liana created a timeline for all of the vendors and our family and ensured that everyone followed it. She made sure that everything went smoothly at the ceremony and worked with the photographer to move photos along quickly afterwards. We wanted to be able to enjoy cocktail hour, and she made sure we were done with photos quickly enough to even have a couple minutes to ourselves beforehand.
They made sure every aspect of our day went exactly how we wanted. If there were any issues throughout the day, we didn’t know.
I would highly recommend Seneca Lake Design! Their services and design are outstanding!

Catskill Mountain Wedding

My husband and I were married on July 2, 2016 at the West Branch Angler Resort in Hancock, New York. Seneca Lake Design made our wedding along the West Branch of the Delaware River absolutely picturesque. From the very beginning, Matthew and Liana let us know that they would make our vision a reality. They did that and so much more. The team at Seneca Lake Design did such a beautiful job on the flowers for our ceremony, which included a stunning mixture for our ceremony arch, our rustic doorway at the top of the aisle, and our vibrant bouquets and boutonnieres. The wooden camp chairs that were also provided by Seneca Lake Design helped to create the rustic and warm setting we had been hoping for during our ceremony. Outside, for our cocktail hour, the handmade tables that Seneca Lake Design provided were adorned with a spectacular mixture of wildflowers and beautiful lanterns. At our reception, everything looked stunning as we dined inside. Seneca Lake Design provided up lighting to warm the room, table cloths that helped to brighten up the interior, and beautiful centerpieces for each table. We received so many compliments from our guests on just how breathtaking all of the flowers were. After dinner, our dance floor was lit up with colorful bulbs that really helped to create an ambiance ready for a party! With everything that they provided, Seneca Lake Design worked with us and stayed within our price range. My husband and I were also able to provide many of our own handmade designs that were incorporated, which was something that we really loved and appreciated. We would highly recommend Seneca Lake Design to anyone looking for a unique and enjoyable experience. Seneca Lake Design provides work of the highest quality and truly does an impressive job!

Fall Vineyard Wedding

I still get compliments from family & friends a few months after the event, that our wedding was the best party that they’d attended in a long time! Seneca Lake Design wove in elegance, charm, and so much HEART into this day. In the preplanning leading up to it, they took thoughtful consideration of our needs, wishes & budget, and accomplished WAY more than we could have imagined. As the bride, I trusted their taste and knew I wouldn’t be steered into something that didn’t feel like my husband and me. The ceremony and reception were at a venue overlooking Seneca Lake in New York wine country. We were graced with warm and sunny weather, so our ceremony could remain outside (though SLD was prepared for any rain that day, too, which gave me great peace of mind!). Our guests were armed with umbrellas and personal fans that SLD thoughtfully provided to help with the heat and sun. My husband and I shared our vows with the back drop of the lake and a custom-made ceremony arch festooned in a gorgeous mix of handpicked and cut flowers. Truly incredible! The bridal bouquets were touchingly crafted and the artful flower arrangements that dotted the dinner tables & dance tent became irresistible keepsakes for guests later that evening. Not only did they produce amazing visuals, but the SLD team also knows how to throw a fantastic party! The transitions from wedding to reception and dancing were seamless, largely because of their careful and intuitive attention. And our dance tent was accented beautifully with expert lighting and invited so many to boogie that guests danced until the last song (success in my book!). We are so grateful to Seneca Lake Design for making this moment in our lives truly moving, extraordinary, and memorable! Our wedding day was spectacular, and I wish I could relive it, again and again. But I’m sure most brides say that. =)

Finger Lakes Winery Wedding

We hired Seneca Lake Design for our May 2016 wedding, an outdoor event at lakeside winery. While Matthew and Liana were a pleasure to work with from the first meeting, what I appreciate the most about them is their unwavering personal commitment to creating a beautiful event. This work is more than a job for them; it’s a way to express their creativity and practice their artistry. My husband and I didn’t have ideas of what a “dream wedding” would look like. We are both busy professionals and we needed to hire someone that we could trust to do the hard work of planning and executing an event that matched our taste and style. Matthew and Liana are that team. Instead of working through a checklist of flowers, centerpieces, and flatware, they started by getting a sense of our vibe and style, and of how we wanted our special day to feel for our guests. They then presented us with a proposal, and it was evident that they had considered not only the overall vision, but also crucial small details that we never would’ve thought of (like the fact that everyone loves a tambourine at a dance party, and our guests did). It was clear that they “got” us, and the design felt personalized and unique. They were very respectful of our budget, even presenting some elements as options that we could choose not to incorporate, with no questions asked. They also helped us locate, contract, and coordinate local vendors, which was crucial given that our venue was pretty much a blank canvas. Our wedding day was absolutely gorgeous and flawlessly executed. We wanted a relaxed but elegant vibe, nothing too fussy or overdone. We wanted our guests to feel special and included, but not worried about which fork to use. And the open-air, candle-lit, flower-laden space they created was perfect. I’m not exaggerating when I say that multiple guests told us it was the most beautiful event they’d ever seen (and many of those comments came from men, who couldn’t have named even one type of flower, let alone the dozens that were adorning the farmhouse tables). It was exactly how I wanted it to look, and exactly how I wanted it to feel, even though I didn’t have the words or technical know-how to describe it. Matthew and Liana excel at just this– getting a clear sense of what makes their clients tick, and translating that into design. Aside from being incredibly talented at their craft, Matthew and Liana are lovely people. Their sense of humor and confidence in their abilities made it easy to get through the few bumps that always arise in coordinating vendors at a big event. After the wedding, Matthew gave us a piece of the sycamore wood that made our beautiful ceremony arch, and explained how to hang it on our wall. It’s in our bedroom now, a daily reminder of our gorgeous wedding. In short, we trusted Seneca Lake Design with the most important day of our lives, and they blew us away.
